Updated: Oct 28, 2022

Wales Over 70 Men are currently competing in the 060-080 Masters Hockey World Cup in Tokyo, Japan.

After finishing second in their group behind South Africa, Wales took on Japan in their semi-final match earlier today. Coming back from 0-2 to beat the host nation 3-2, the team will now compete for gold in the final.

The final, which will take place on Saturday 29th October at 2:00am BST, will see Wales take on South Africa. Despite losing 1-2 to South Africa in the earlier group stages, the squad is optimistic and excited for what is sure to be a thrilling final.

No matter the score, Wales O70 have already made history, being the first Wales Masters team of any age group to make it to the final of a World Cup.

Best results to date are bronze at both the O70 Men's 2016 World cup in Australia, O65 Men's World Cup in Barcelona in 2018, and more recently bronze for Wales O35 Women at the 2022 World Cup in Nottingham.

The final will be streamed live on Japan Hockey’s YouTube page from 2:00am on Saturday: WMH Masters Hockey World Cup 2022 (Tokyo) - YouTube.

The match can also be followed live on Masters Altiusrt at https://masters.altiusrt.com/competitions/203.
